We have already known the importance of sanitation and hygiene of female products during the menstruation. Female reproductive system is subject to invasion of bacteria and virus easily, especially during the menstruation, it’s particularly vulnerable. If using the disqualified napkins, the reproductive system is easily to be infected. Besides purchasing sanitary napkins in supermarket, and choosing reputable brands, pay attention to the production date, number of hygiene license and so on, there are other four principles that need to be noticed when using sanitary napkins.

1.Frequent replacement
The blood is rich in nutrients and is easy to be breeding base for bacteria, therefore, the sanitary napkins should be replaced frequently. Two mistakes here: firstly, some female think that when using the sanitary napkins with excellent absorption and protection, it’s unnecessary to replace it frequently; second (secondly,) forget to replace it when the blood is little.

2. Stop using when allergic
Sanitary napkins from standard manufacturers, the raw materials have through special security checks and have been used for a long time. If some female feel allergic to a certain kind of sanitary napkins, it’s due to the physical problems, the same reason as some people may be allergic to seafood.

The only way to prevent allergies is to avoid allergens. Thus, stop using this kind of sanitary napkins as long as feel allergic and uncomfortable. The best way is to find the constituent that result in allergy, usually is the essence of the sanitary napkin and stop using sanitary napkins that contain the same constituent.

Expert suggested that it’s better to use cotton napkins rather than mesh one for females with sensitive skin. The mesh one has better absorption, however, the cotton one is more comfortable. In addition, females are easily to be allergic in summer for moisture accumulation, therefore, sanitary napkins should be replaced more frequent.

3. Keep distance from sanitary pads
Before and after the menstruation, during business or trips, some females will choose to use sanitary pads for its convenience and practicability. However, doctor suggested that the sanitary pads should not be used frequently.

Female skin is delicate that need a breathable environment or it will concentrate moisture and easily to breed bacteria, casing series health problems. The best way is to wear cotton underwear and wash it everyday. If using the sanitary pads, choose products with good permeability.

4. Pay attention to disinfection and discolouration
Sanitary napkins are not completely sterile, because it is difficult to achieve. It’s also unnecessary, for the blood has many microorganisms itself. According to a study, blood contains 9 to 108 micro-organisms in per gram, but generally, it’s not harm to human boby.

Therefore, many manufactures will not give sterilization to sanitary napkins. Based on national standard, control the number of bacteria and microorganisms within a certain range; it will not harm female health. There are some products have been sterilized. The epoxyethane is often used in sterilization, but the products should be stored for some time then can be put into market. Otherwise, the residual epoxyethane is detrimental to female according to national regulations.

Does the white and clean of sanitary napkins from discolouration? Not exactly. Some sanitary napkins are white due to its raw material and unnecessary for discolouration, and some applied the fluorescent brightener. In terms of fluorescent brightener, it’s unnecessary to worry. Currently, there are thousands kinds of fluorescent brightener, some are suspected harmful to human health, but they are not for paper making industry. In other words, at present, there is no evidence to indicate the harmfulness of fluorescent brightener in paper making.
