Why do babies get diaper rash?

Firstly, the wet buttock skin, resulting from infrequent diaper changes, is the main cause of diaper rash.

1. Infrequently changed wet diaper
Baby's small bottom skin is vulnerable. If the diaper is wet and not changed in time, the natural acid protective film above the bottom skin will be damaged in a wet diaper wrapped environment. After the surface of the skin is destroyed, the stratum corneum is easily worn and infiltrated by the irritant, so that the irritant penetrates the skin more easily, and finally the skin is damaged and inflamed, causing the baby to suffer from diaper rash.

2. Infrequently changed soiled diaper
The baby's stool contains a substance that helps digestion, which can erode the skin, so that the stratum corneum of the skin is also irritated and inflamed, causing the baby to develop a diaper rash.

Secondly, parents' incorrect care can also lead to babies' diaper rash

The above two causes are main causes leading to babies' diaper rash. Of course, if parents don't pay attention to some certain small details in the caring process, diaper rash may also occur. Hence we list some details that mothers should pay attention to.

1. Incomplete cleaning
After babies' urination or a bowel movement, just simply wipe up without rinsing your baby's bottom. As a result, the skin layer of the baby's bottom still has residual urine. In this case, if a new diaper is directly put on, the diaper rash is inevitably caused by prolonged irritation of the skin.

2. Chemical stimulation
Some mothers directly use wipes instead of rinsing their babies' bottom with warm water when they change diapers.
Some mothers love to use soap to clean the babies' bottom.
Some mothers wash and soak cloth diapers with soap or disinfectant fluid, but don't rinse out the residue.

These behaviors cause the baby's small butt to be stimulated by various chemicals, causing skin allergies and eventually producing diaper rash.

3. Disposable diapers in wrong size
If cloth diapers or disposable diapers are not fitted to our babies, which leads to rubbing between babies' skin and diaper during their movement, the stratum corneum is damaged and eventually diaper rash generates.

Seeing this, I feel that there are pits hiding behind every step of caring a baby in everyday food and clothing. I have to say that it's not easy to take care of a baby!
