How to choose the right diaper for your baby

Baby diapers should be prepared for a newborn before the birth. The fabric of the diaper should be of soft, absorbent, and washable cotton. It is best to use old bed sheets, quilt covers or cotton sweaters, and pants to make rectangular or triangular diapers. For newborns and infants from 2 to 3 months, diapers can be small. As they grow up, the diapers can be made larger later. The color of the fabric should be light, which can facilitate the observation of the characters of baby urine.

The skin of the newborn is delicate, so the diaper should be replaced in time if it is wet, otherwise there will be "red ass", that is, diaper dermatitis. Generally, at least 30 pieces of diapers should be prepared for timely replacement. Dirty diapers, especially diapers with stools, need to be cleaned with a brush first, then soaked in soap powder solution. After the soak, scrub the diapers and blanch them in boiling water  (preferably for 10 to 20 minutes) after the residual soap is rinsed away, then hang them to dry in the sun for standby use.

Some parents like to wrap a piece of plastic paper on the outer layer of the cloth diaper to prevent the clothes and quit from being wet by baby urine, but this makes the moisture not penetrate, which makes the baby's skin red and causes skin erosion. If some parents like to adopt this method, the diaper needs to be replaced in time when the diaper is wet.

At present, there are disposable diapers on the market. Some parents think that although the cost is higher, it is a trouble-saving product. Changing 3 to 4 pieces of diaper a day can solve the problem, and there is no need to clean the diaper. Indeed, disposable diapers have their advantages, such as good water absorption. A small amount of urine is quickly sucked dry and the baby does not feel wet, reducing the possibility of baby crying. However, when the urine accumulates to a certain extent, it can still be in contact with the skin. If it is not replaced in time, the skin of the child's buttocks will have eczema, and even the skin will have ulcers. More seriously, bacterial or fungal infections occur in succession. As the urine evaporates, the salt in the urine will also irritate the child's delicate skin. If the baby is allergic to the chemical fibers in the disposable diaper, it can cause severe dermatitis. If parents do not notice timely that their baby has bowel movements, the bacteria in the stool can invade the urethra (especially for baby girl) and cause an ascending urinary tract infection, which has a greater impact on the child's health.

Therefore, we recommend using a cloth diaper for your baby during the day. Once the baby pisses, it can be replaced in time to keep the skin of the buttocks dry. At night, disposable diapers can be used according to the conditions, so that parents and babies can rest well. When you take your baby out, it is much more convenient for you to bring with a disposable diaper.
